Graham's poutty face

Please excuse our harmonizing, we know we are not ready for American Idol.  This was just too funny not to share!

note: Graham does not do this when Tim is singing solo or Heather is singing solo, and has not done it since.  :)

Not to be outdone by the pictures in the post below - here is a consolidated video of the babies first semi-solid feeding.  This is also Tim's first attempt at some basic video editing.  We hope you enjoy.  : )

Hungry Hungry Hippos

This has been a busy week for us!  We've been getting back on track from our vacation to Colorado (pictures to come soon), started getting ready for Mommy to go back to work- school starts very soon- and trying to enjoy the dwindling summer.

Monday was our first official solid food.  We started out with rice cereal, kids stripped down to their diapers.  We put them in the bumpo chairs on the kitchen counter and they dug in.  We couldn't feed them fast enough!  When we didn't have the spoon in their mouths they were trying to suck on their hands.  Needless to say, we got cereal all over the place.  Good thing it was bath time.  Since that first day, we've gotten into a routine.  Graham really likes it, he can't get enough!  Kennedy isn't so sure, she still likes her bottle better.

We also may have a couple of teethers on our hands.  They love to gnaw on anything they can get into their mouths... including their hands!

A Kennedy Surprise

Its a good thing daddy decided to take a vacation day today - to spend time with mommy and the babies after they were gone for 10 days in Colorado.  This morning Kennedy graced us with her first laugh- it's such a sweet sound!

Dear Kennedy and Graham,

A year ago we were filled with hope, fear, anticipation and love.  A year ago, I gave myself a shot that hurt my skin but filled my heart, and it started the whole process that gave us you.  A year ago we put all our eggs in one basket- literally!  I walked into the doctor's office and saw the beautiful embryos that would become you.  I have loved you from that moment.  And when we left the doctor's office (me in a wheel chair and on strict bed rest, Daddy driving very carefully) I began the process of growing my two beautiful babies.  My body held you for the first time and I took very good care of you!  We called you Hope and Faith, because that is what it was all about.  We hoped for you like nobody has ever hoped before, and we put all our faith in God and our doctor.  AND THEN THERE WAS YOU!  I will never forget the day I got the news that we were pregnant, and I just KNEW there were two of you.

Since a year ago we have lived our lives for you.  Because there is nothing better in the whole world for Daddy and me than loving you.

Love,
Mommy

Graham's first time on the bouncer

We put Graham on the bouncer the other day for the first time.  He still isn't too sure about it yet, but sometimes he likes to sit in it for about 10-15 minutes if he's in good mood.  The video below is an example of one of his good days.  : )

Kennedy's turn

Last week was Kennedy's turn to try the excersaucer for the first time.  We didn't think she would like it or even fit very well for that matter - boy were we wrong.  Just see for your self...

We can't believe that 4 months ago, you arrived and became our world.  We have loved watching you grow!

Compare them to their 1 month, 2 month and 3 month pictures.  They have really grown!

Check Up

We had our 4 month check up a week early, since the Dr and our vacation schedules conflicted.  He said they look fantastic (I know!).  The babies got a big thumbs up and three immunizations this time.  Poor babies!  I hate their little sad faces when the nurse sticks them, like "oh, how could you let her do that?!?!?"  The good part was we got to check their weight.  Drumroll please... Graham weighs 11 pounds 13 ounces and Kennedy is a whopping 10 pounds 6 ounces!  Can you believe our little girl who was 4 pounds weighs that much now?!  It's all in her cheeks!  The dr also said we could start feeding them cereal if we wanted to.  He warned us they may not be ready yet, maybe we'll wait until after the Colorado trip?  It's definatley an exciting milestone- (kinda) solid food!

In the meantime, they are keeping us on our toes.  They want to play all the time.  Both are now reaching out to grab stuff on their playmat, they don't really fit well in their exersaucer/jumper but they like to be in them.  We have to stuff towels down in seats to help them.  Especially Kennedy!  Graham has been rolling over from tummy to back for a while now.  Kennedy doesn't do that, but the Dr it's no big deal, some kiddos just don't have the desire to roll onto their tummies (she doesn't like HATES tummy time).  They smile all the time and talk to us and each other.  We're convinced they're plotting against us already.  "What do you want to do tonight Brain?"  "What we do every night, Pinky.  Try to take over the world!"  Or at least our world.
