Introducing...

Kennedy Rae and Graham Michael were born today, Tuesday, March 9 at 3am in the morning. Graham weighs 6lb and is 19"long. Kennedy weighs 4lb and is 18" long. Since she is so much smaller, she has a harder time regulating her body temp and blood glucose levels, so she is spending a few days in the special care nursery as a precautionary measure until she gets stronger. Here are a few pictures. We hope to post more in the next week or so.

35 weeks

Today we had our 35 week appointment. The ob wanted to check out the babies and since Kennedy is a little smaller, they performed a stress test on her. She passed all 8 parts of the tests with flying colors! She's like her mommy and daddy, A+ students! ;) The stress test was a biomed ultrasound, so we got to see the babies, too. Right now, Graham weighs about 5lb 14oz, and Kennedy weighs about 4lbs 13 oz. Growing right on track!

In the meantime, Heather's legs and feet have been really swollen the past week or so. She tries to stay off them, but it's hard to do while she's teaching. Saturday was by far the worst swelling so far, she couldn't even fit into her shoes! Because of that, the doctor decided that Heather doesn't have to work anymore. She isn't on bed rest, but she will need to stay off her feet a little more, which she can't do at school. And the big news... She is 1 cm dilated (9 to go!) We have a date to be induced if the babies haven't come yet- March 10. Hopefully they'll be here by then, but it's definitely something to look forward to!

In the meantime, Heather is going to be spending some time relaxing- until the babies get here, she is planning on getting a chance to read, maybe get the babies scrapbooks started, spend time with her Grandma Cleda, and making some food to freeze so we have some ready meals when the babies are here.

34 Week Pic

Here is our 34 week picture. So far, there are no indications that the babies will arrive soon. They could be here tomorow or up to 4 weeks from now. We can't wait to meet them! The nursery is done and everything is in its place. Tim even installed the Graco bases in the cars. We're about as ready as we're going to be. : )

Heather is still doing good. No issues except for lack of sleep and being uncomfortable. She is still going to work and has finally decided that she needs to stop working out.

32 Week Appointment

Today, we had our 32 week appointment. From now on, we are going to the doctor every week until the babies come. Heather is doing great. Blood pressure is normal. Its because she is still working out on the eliptical - definitely dedicated. : )

We also got to see the babies, possibly for the last time, unless we make it to 36 weeks. Then, we will have another ultrasound. Graham was definitely hogging all the space. He is bigger at about 4lb 12oz. Poor Kennedy was all scrunched up and weighs about 4lb. She is just fine though. She will be a perfect little ballerina. : )

Dad's 60th birthday

Yesterday was Tim's dad's (Glenn) 60th birthday party. We had a lot of fun with friends and family. Dad even got up and performed one of his famous speeches/roasts. : ) Here are a few pictures.

3D Ultrasound Pictures at 22.5 weeks

We think these pictures are gorgeous. They are a little old, 22.5 weeks into our pregnancy but we wanted to wait until after Christmas to post them, because we surprised our parents with picture albums and DVDs of the babies... and then we just didn't get around to posting them. Well, a month later... :)

Since this is our first pregnancy (and maybe only?) in early November we decided to get 3D ultrasound pictures of our babies. Because they are twins, the receptionist at Ultrasona suggested we come in before 24 weeks- apparently the bigger they are the harder it is to see all their baby parts. We now realize this was a great idea, because at our 28 week ob appointment it was really hard to see faces and get measurements. It was hard to tell whose legs were whose! The 3D pictures would have been even cuter if they'd been a little chubbier, but we still think they're adorable anyway. It was fun to see them moving around, and we felt like we could see their personalities a little, too. Kennedy's head was on Graham's chest for most of the session. Graham was all stretched out, sleeping like his Daddy, and Kennedy was curled up in a tight little ball. She has her Momma's dance genes, for sure- toward the end of the session her feet were above her head (in Graham's face, by the way) and her knees were touching her nose! She's my graceful little ballerina :)

Graham was so sleepy, he gave us a great big yawn! If you're having trouble reading the picture, his face is toward the top, middle of the pic and his eyes are closed. His head is stretched upward a little bit.

Doesn't it look like Graham is sleeping so peacefully? You can see the top of Kennedy's head in the bottom left corner, snuggling with her brother.

Graham is such a happy baby already! Look at his great big smile!

Kennedy was a sleepy baby too. The ultrasound tech kept wiggling the wand on my

belly to try to wake her up. In case you're having trouble distinguishing the picture, it's kind of a profile shot, and she's facing the right side of the picture. She's yawning and has her little fist up in front of her face. I love this picture, it makes me want to yawn, too!

Now Kennedy is showing off her gracefulness- her skinny arm is up in front of her face but you can see her nose and lips poking out from behind her arm. You can also see her ribs through her skin- don't worry, she's a lot more chubby now. I put some meat on her bones!

This picture cracks me up- she's curled up in a ball with her little hand splayed out like she's blocking something- we think she's saying "I'm tired, no more pictures please!"

29 week pic and first class

This week we started our baby classes at MO Baptist. Unfortunately, we didnt find out about a multiples class at St Johns until it was too late. The instructer was really nice, and we even learned three new breathing techniques. That is our homework for this week. : ) Most of the other couples were nice, but there was one husband who thought he was a jokster, which was a little annoying. We have three more classes to go, so the babies need to wait until we graduate. : )
