Allan Horstmann

Tim's cousin, Allan, passed away yesterday during an outing on Lake Carlyle with his friends. He was 17 years young and will truly be missed. He had a great smile and was always willing to lend a helping hand. What greater gift than to lie down one's life for a friend...

Allan was with some friends in a boat when one of his friends lost his hat in the wind. His friend went to jump into the water after it. After a few moments, Allan found that he was struggling to stay afloat, so he jumped in after him. Unfortunately, the lake conditions were very brutal with a howling wind, and Allan soon began to struggle also. Their boat was late to circle back around to pick them up because it had stalled out - a few precious moments lost. One of his other friends, a certified life guard, was able to safe his friend, but not Allan. He lost his battle with the waves before she could get back him around 3:23pm. His body was found hours later around 7:15 in just 12 feet of water. Another story of a beautiful life lost to tragedy...

Bumpo Chairs!

So, we tried to put the babies in a bumpo chair about a week ago, and they loved it! Check out the video below.

The babies love their Baby Einstein excersise mat. It can keep them entertained for up to a half hour! Here is a little video of them in action.

2 Months!

We can't believe that the twins are two months old today! They have grown so much and are starting to interact with us more everyday. They are starting to smile - with a lot of coaxing of course, and they are even cooing when they are just chillin or playing on the play mat.

Baby Playdate

This last week we ventured out and met up with the other moms from our IVF cycle group with their babies. Of the six of us that we know of that got pregnant last July, five of us were able to get together on Wednesday. There were two twin pregnancies and the rest were singletons. Look at all these adorable miracles!

Of course, of all the babies, only our Graham Cracker was crying. I'm glad there were so many other mothers there, I definitely needed help with my two handfuls that day. Overall though, we had a great time and can't wait to do it again!

And, of course my newest motto: "We survived!"
